The Riding Academy Program is suitable for all levels of skill and interest. Some students have a serious desire to show in the ring and compete, while others are content to simply improve their equitation skills in a more casual manner. Whatever your goals, Heather Hill’s instructor, Laura Stevens, will tailor a program just for you.

Lessons

Heather Hill offers lessons year-around. The basics of horsemanship and horse care are patiently taught to each student depending on his/her level of interest. This includes learning the proper techiniques of leading, grooming and saddling, and bridling.

Lessons run about an hour and a half and the riding takes place in an arena or on the trail. 

• Group or Private lessons: $80
• Lesson packages: 6 lessons for $400.

Leasing

Leasing is a wonderful way to make sure you always ride the same pony, giving you a chance to bond with your furry friend. This is also an important introduction into the commitment required in the world of horse ownership. You will learn about all the necessary maintenance surrounding horse husbandry including working with the ferrier and the vet.
A six month lease commitment is required.

• Half lease - $650 per month for 3-4 rides per week.
• Full lease - $1,000 per month for 6-7 lessons/trail rides per week. 
   

Am I Ready to Show?

Laura works closely with all of her students and knows when the time is right for you to show. Her program is inclusive and she coaches her students at Welsh shows and other local events. Her service includes:

• Providing the Horse
• Preparing and Grooming the Horse
• Filling out the Entry Forms
• Trailering 
• Coaching

Please note that additional fees for each of the above services are required to show. Laura will let you know in advance.
